Our client, LINEN, with close to 30 year experience in more than 46 markets, offices in 4 continents and an established reputation as one of top 5 animal & vegetable protein and fats trading companies in Europe, are looking for a proactive and hands-on experienced professional to join their team of “A” Players in the role of Chief Accountant.
- Lead implementation and oversight of Group-wide accounting policies, standards, and daily operations to ensure alignment across all entities.
- Own the month-end and year-end closing processes, including intercompany reconciliations, fee calculations, and internal reporting timelines.
- Supervise consolidated group accounting and reporting, including management accounts, Power BI cross-checks, and ad-hoc reporting.
- Drive automation and process improvements in collaboration with finance and IT teams, and support onboarding and training of accountants.
- Oversee preparation of Group Consolidated Annual Report and coordinate external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate statutory reporting.
- Monitor tax compliance across group entities, support communication with tax authorities, and contribute to tax optimization strategies.
- Act as the chief accountant for the Group’s parent company and liaise with external consultants for cross-border accounting and tax matters.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in group accounting, consolidation, or financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards); experience in preparing consolidated financial statements is essential.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required for communication within an international group and with external auditors.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and tools, including ERP systems and reporting tools. Experience with Power BI will be an advantage.
- Experience with audit coordination and statutory reporting for international entities.
- Understanding of tax compliance and transfer pricing principles; experience working with external tax advisors is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex financial data and reporting timelines.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience in training and supporting accounting teams.
